Dylan says...

Just because those fools Ramenov and Stevens failed to abduct my nephew doesn't mean I'm going to lay down and give up. What kind of Fallen Master just gives up at the first sign of adversity? After the bloodletting I will let another pair of my best soldiers try...and they will not fail...

From Alden

What is the deal with my uncle? I know he thinks I'm the Destined but he needs to get a grip. Just because I look like the kid mentioned in the Draclavian and I beat the crap out of his Russian henchman doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's hard enough being a Vamp in a human world (with a human sister and father, no less), without having to deal with this. I'm not worried about uniting all Vamps or anything of the sort!! The main thing on my mind is getting a new iPod...

The Virtues of Being Sick

I hate being sick (who doesn't?). But I will say, one of the nice things about being an author is that being sick gives you a great opportunity to catch up on your writing.

To wit: Five days of illness, 120 pages of Z-Day. We're that far along. I've finally merged the beginning and middle (which I inadvertently wrote first, thinking it was the middle). This required major editing, beefing up of certain sections, and writing several new chapters.

And now I have a clear idea of what happens next. So off we go!

Coming together!

Z Day is way harder to write than VEMPIRE. That book came out of me like water from a fire hose. I literally couldn't stop the flow. Z-Day is much more painstaking. I'm getting there but finding it's much harder to write in the first person. Also, the particulars are revealing themselves to me in a much different way. A more laborious process. I started out writing the middle, thinking it was the beginning. Then I realized it was actually the middle. So now I've been writing the beginning, and I'm ***this close*** to attaching the two. Once that starts, I think I can cruise through the end pretty easily. I hope. Important thing is to just keep going...as Joe Sabah always says, ideas are a dime a dozen, but people who follow through are PRICELESS. Whoot.

Taking the Plunge

So my agent tells me it's time for a blog...

I don't really have time for a proper post right now but I'll say this:

VEMPIRE is about to be submitted (Yay!!) and...

There's mayhem in Z-DAY as Cassie and her motley crew are being attacked by zombies outside the New England Aquarium.

I'm ready to tie the middle (already written) and the beginning (been working on it) in the next few days, then write the end in the coming month or two.

That would make three books down with a few more in the hopper.
